Essen 2008
Germany's festival of games treated us well, with a phenomenal response to ICE FLOW. Many thanks to all those of you who came to say hello and to play the game.

After 4 days of gaming at the world's biggest board game show, we are thrilled to announce that we made #7 on the prestigious Fair Play list. This list is compiled from ratings given by game 'scouts' to all the registered new games appearing at Essen this year; that is: games from companies small, large, and massive! At one point we were 5th on the list, but by the final vote we have slipped to 7th. The final top ten looked like this:

Spiel 2008 - top ten
Dominion
Machu Picchu
Comuni
Diamonds Club
Snow Tails
Pandemic
Ice Flow
Im Schutze der Burg
Age of Empires III
Uruk

What is 'Spiel in Essen'?
Nine massive halls, hundreds of stands and tens of thousands of visitors make this the world's largest and most prestigious boardgame event. Commonly referred to as "Essen", the show is a Mecca for boardgames enthusiasts. A mish-mash of the muti-nationals (Parker), big German hitters (Ravensburger), American distributors (Rio Grande) and hundreds of small independents (Ludorum Games), it is a public showcase for new games and a great opportunity to see what's out there. People come to sell, to play and to buy - picking up fantastic bargains. It is quite simply THE place to be. It's well worth the visit.
